Studio Pottery Vase - M Delduc

A stunning vintage piece of Studio Pottery in the form of a small vase, decorated with stylised foliage and mushrooms on a deep pink ground. Has a matt finish to the exterior and a glazed interior in a cream colour. Believed to originate from the Mediterranean coastal area of France, and signed on the bottom M. Delduc.  The ceramicist Marc Prosper Delduc (1932 - 1984) was based in Hyeres in the South of France, and was highly regarded for his decorative enamelled plaques and vases.  This is somewhat of a departure from that style, but is likely an earlier work. His designs often depicting elements from the natural world. His more noted works seem to date from the 1960s and 1970s, and we believe that this particular vase is an earlier piece dating from the 1950s.

The vase is in excellent condition, except for a very tiny nibble to the bottom edge (see final photo).
