Trio of Antique 19th Century Carved Oak Lion Table Legs / Architectural Corbels

A magnificent, matching set of three substantial 19th-century high-relief figural carvings in solid oak. Masterfully hand-carved in the Renaissance Revival / Baronial style, each piece depicts a fierce guardian lion with deeply textured manes, bared teeth, and prominent clawed paws.

Originally crafted as the structural pedestal legs for a grand French or Flemish hunting table, the back ends feature clean, historic cut-off dovetail joints where they were salvaged from the original table framework. Thanks to their impressive thickness and flat profile, they are incredibly versatile and perfectly suited for high-end furniture restoration or repurposing as architectural wall corbels, fireplace mantle brackets, or dramatic statement pieces.

In excellent antique condition with deep, crisp carving details intact. The wood retains a beautiful, rich dark patina developed over a century of age. As salvaged items, they feature historic cuts to the original rear mounting joints which do not affect the structural integrity or display potential of the faces. One appears to have had a break at some point, possibly when it was still attached to the table, but has been expertly repaired and is just as solid as the other 2. Please review the photos for a close-up look at the unique hand-carved character of each piece.
