A highly detailed, diminutive hand made model of Reddish House, Broad Chalke, Salisbury in Wiltshire by Timothy Richards. These were produced in relatively small numbers and presented as book ends, but serve equally well as a decorative piece on a bookshelf, a table or a mantel. Amazing attention to detail, this is one of a small collection we recently acquired - others to follow.

Reddish House was built by a local builder in the early 18th Century, showing clear Italian-Wren influences. It is still standing to this day, as a Grade II Queen Anne style village property, set in 6 acres of the Chalke Valley. The house was owned by famed photographer Sir Cecil Beaton from 1947 until his death in 1980, hosting such notable guests of the day as Greta Garbo, David Hockney and Francis Bacon. The model has some minor signs of age and use, but still in very good condition.

Measures: 16.5cm tall x 11.5cm wide x 6.5cm deep
