19th Century Carved Oak Table

A gorgeous antique heavily carved Gothic oak hall or centre table. Dating from the early 19th Century, this piece would look equally as impressive as a hall table, or a centre/dining table. There is a long drawer along one side, and the carved frieze details have been carefully matched so the table looks great from all angles.

Each corner of the table has a carved lion head and the feet are formed from mythical beasts. The main figures appear to be Merlions (winged lions with fish tails). The legs are joined by a very ornately carved stretcher. This is a rare piece in amazing condition.
