Herbert Terry 3 Step Anglepoise 1227 Desk Lamp

A very rare and early vintage 3 step anglepoise lamp by Herbert Terry & Sons, in a very desirable pale blue, with the original Bakelite fitting, and rewired with black twisted flex.

The idea for the lamp came from engineer George Carwardine in 1932, with production of the original 1227 model lamps starting in 1935 with the iconic and much sought after cast iron 3 step base.  This base had a short life, with a simpler 2 step base becoming the standard by the end of the decade - making the 3 step the one to have.

In original condition, with fully functioning mechanism and a perfect addition to your office, study, studio or other living space.
