Wembley Park Enamel Sign
Rare London Underground enamel sign for Wembley Park Station on the Jubilee & Metropolitan lines. This particular sign is most likely the centre part of a bronze framed roundel that would have been installed on a platform (see last photo which shows a typical installation). Quite a lot of these roundels were scrapped when they were removed during reconstruction and/or extension works, so it's good to save at least one.
The Wembley Park underground station first opened in 1893/94 to serve the 'pleasure grounds' that had been created in the area. Now, of course, it is one of the stations serving Wembley Stadium. Excellent original condition, with only minor marks.
