Urchin & Puppy Watercolour

A very cute and highly decorative early 20th Century watercolour of a Street Urchin and his Puppy - originally identified as being in the style of the Italian school, but signed F. Ellis 1910, which sounds like an English name.  Maybe he was travelling in Italy at the time.  Judging by the label on the rear of the frame, maybe F. Ellis was a Derbyshire artist?

Mounted in a simple gilt wooden frame, so as not to detract from the very appealing subject matter.

Measures: 34.5cm tall x 27cm wide x 3.5cm deep
