Horikawa Piston Robot

A vintage S.H Horikawa Piston Robot from the 1970s, complete with original box. He has a walking action and the pistons in the chest go up and down. He is powered by 2 x C batteries (big round ones!). The robot is in mint and working condition (likely never played with), and the box is also in very good condition with only minor signs of age and use (and the original owner's name on a sticky label).

This is the original Japanese version, marked with the SH diamond logo, and 'Made in Japan' on the front of the box - later versions were made in Taiwan. Horikawa Toy Industrial Co Ltd was established in 1959 and was in operation until the late 1980s, and was one of the most successful post-WWII Japanese battery operated toy manufacturers.

Such a cool thing.
