A rare pair of original framed naive oil on board paintings by W.J. Bennewith dating from 1974, titled The Blackfriar and The Cockpit. Each image depicts these famous London pubs, frequented mostly by city Gents wearing suits and bowler hats. Labels on the back provide details of each pub as follows:
The Blackfriar, Queen Victoria St, London EC4, built 1903
The Cockpit, St Andrews Hill, London EC4, originally built 1611
The paintings are labelled on the front with the artist and title, and are in amazing original condition with no damage.
Each painting measures: 45.5cm wide x 31cm tall x 2cm deep
