Rare Victorian glass shop display counter with wrought iron shelf supports and 2 glass shelves. A really unusual shape with tapered ends to maximise the display area inside. Has 2 sliding doors to the rear to allow access to the display area, mounted on brass runners to ensure that the doors do not stick. Has been heavily overpainted with white paint some time ago (possibly 1950s/1960s), which adds to the charm of the piece, but could also be stripped back to show the original wood beneath. The black base and interior 'floor' are most likely the original paint. In generally good condition, with obvious signs of age and use, such as scratches on the top glass.
