Original Art Deco calendar poster depicting 'The Spirit of Progress' by Ruehl Frederick Heckman - this is one of a series of pieces by this artist depicting stereotypical Art Deco images of aviation and machine age architecture. These wonderful images were reproduced in large format advertising calendars by The Thomas D Murphy Company of Iowa, USA. The company offered these as promotional pieces and would print their customers' logos in the middle section. This is a rare sample print and is from January 1938 - see the second image for the full poster including the calendar. So hard to find now, these really capture the flavour of the time. This one has been losely mounted so can be removed from the frame if required. In wonderful condition for its' age.
Measures: 130cm tall x 70cm wide x 4.5cm deep (in the frame)
