Antique promotional model of a staircase, displaying the cast iron balustrade work of G. Bacqueville of France, dating from the early 20th Century. The staircase and banister are made from mahogany, and the balustrade is cast iron to show off the capabilities of the company. This would have been displayed at exhibitions around the world. Originally would have had a paper label on the front face, which most probably deteriorated over time, and has been replaced by an engraved brass plate. This is not the usual 'apprentice' piece that you see all the time just made from wood, this is a rare piece with miniaturised cast iron details.
