Antique Servants Bell Box, with reverse painted glass front panel mounted in a pine box. Each room has a red star indicator that moves freely, so could be reinstated as a working box if you wish. Rare to find these with the makers' name on the front (A. Sammons of Juxon Street, Oxford) - salvaged from an old Victorian house that was unfortunately demolished. Juxon Street is located in the Jericho Suburb of Oxford, not too far from the historic centre. This area was originally a part of the Walton Manor farm, owned by St John's College, Oxford, but was developed in the late 19th Century to provide housing for middle class families. The street was named after William Juxon, who was the President of St John's College between 1621 and 1633. In excellent original condition.
