Pair of antique processional brass candle holders mounted on turned wooden bases. Dating from the late 19th Century or early 20th Century, these beautifully detailed pieces were salvaged from a church that was being closed. The deep red glass panes (6 per holder) are an excellent contrast to the intricate brasswork. Each piece has one hinged door to access the candle holder for replacing of the candle and/or lighting. Signs of the original gilding are still visible. They have obvious signs of age and use, but considering they are 100+ years old and have most likely been used on a weekly basis for much of that time, they are in excellent condition.
Measures: 67cm tall x 16cm wide x 13cm deep (each) on a 20cm diameter base
