Original Fairground cut-out panel from a Ben Hur Ark ride
This original Ben Hur wooden cut-out panel is believed to come from a Ben Hur Ark ride dating from the 1930's when this style of ride was first introduced. This piece is believed to have been produced by RJ Lakin & Co, who were one of the leading manufacturers of such rides. The company was only in existence from 1926 to 1952, but in that time produced a large number of rides for showmen all over the country. The panel measures 57 inches (1.448m) x 28 inches (0.711m), including a black back mounting panel.
