Enormous antique E. Dehillerin of Paris copper stock pot stamped with the makers' mark and Savoy Hotel, Cafe and Savoy Grill (see photos). E. Dehillerin has been manufacturing kitchenwares for almost 200 years and is still located at the same address in Paris (18-20 Rue de Coquilliere) as it did over 100 years ago when the pot was produced. This pan would have lived permanently on the burner with ingredients regularly added. Hand beaten copper body, castellated joints and hand made rivets used to apply the wrought iron handles - VERY heavy. This pot would have had a tap attached to allow for the pot to be drained from time to time (but the tap is missing......not surprising after all these years). We've just recovered it from the dark recesses of a garage where it has spent at least the last 40 years. E. Dehillerin no longer sells pans of this scale. Late Edwardian - a rare find. Use it as it is as a decorative piece in the kitchen, as a wine cooler or as a planter........or have it polished and retinned.
