Gorgeous Victorian antique tooled leather jewellery box in deep red leather with hand painted and gilded decoration. The decoration is embellished with numerous colours , including blue, pink, yellow & cream. Has a gold silk interior, and a deep red velvet lined tray with lion headed wire handles. Exquisite details on each surface make this piece really stand out, and there is a white metal cartouche in the centre of the lid, which could have a loved one's initials engraved. Some minor damage to the interior, but not really noticeable. Fitted with the famous brass Bramah lock, which was invented by Joseph Bramah in 1784, and employed the first known high security design. Although the locking mechanism is there, it unfortunately has no key. The oft damaged tooled leather is in near mint condition, and this jewellery box would look stunning in any setting, especially if filled with sparkly goodness :)
