Large antique copper tub/pot/planter. This was from a very early laundry device, which would have been mounted in an enamel or brick frame with a burner beneath to keep the water hot whilst the wash was being done by hand. Typically would have been found in larger houses and hotels in the early 19th Century. Rivetted construction with a convex base - would make a great planter or huge ice bucket for magnums of champers! Beautifully patinated with verdigris.
Measures: 45cm tall x 58cm diameter (66cm to outer rim)
