Rare pair of antique oak Ceremonial Event chairs from Guildhall in London, designed by A.W.N Pugin circa 1840. Upholstered in maroon leather, with the City of London crest emblazoned across the backrest in gold, these chairs have most probably seen a lot famous bums! Guildhall was built in the early 15th Century (circa 1411-1440) and has been home to the City of London Corporation for over 800 years. This grade 1 listed building has seen many state and mayoral occasions since the early 16th Century. The chairs date from the early 19th Century and are very good quality, with roller ball castors fitted to the front legs, and very little wear to the upholstery, and minimal signs of age and use to the frame.
