Very unusual vintage French tandem racing bicycle, dating from circa 1950 in silver with blue pinstripe detailing. Difficult to make out the manufacturer as the handle stem paper label is badly torn, but it has Le Martele Lefol hammered aluminium mudguards, Philippe handlebar stem, Le Simplex gear mechanism, brass Huret quick release wing nuts and Ricly leather saddles. The pedals are also branded, but almost impossible to read with my terrible eyesight or a zoom lense camera, but the logo appears to be in the shape of a shooting star. There is a small aluminium plate attached to the top of the front handlebar stem with a hand engraved notation. It seems to refer to a cyclist called M Daurecourt, and a race 'de Colombe', but have been unable to identify the rider in question, or the race. Has 2 almost new 26" Schwalbe tyres. In need of a service, but otherwise ready to use.
