French Linen Press

Imposing antique oak French linen press, in a washed finish, with gilt details. A particular feature of this piece is the huge, hand carved lion paw and ball feet that it sits on. Would have originally had 2 shelves inside (the supports can be seen), but these have been lost some time during its life, although they could easily be replaced. This piece certainly has the WOW factor, and has been a real talking point in our own house for the last 2 years. The base has 4 large drawers, each with the original wrought iron handles matching the ironwork that can be seen in the door hinges and straps that help to hold these large doors together. Salvaged from a country house on the south coast that was owned by a French family prior to it being sold for use as a wedding venue a few years ago. The cabinet dates from the 19th Century, and splits into a total of 5 pieces for transportation - the base piece being the largest and heaviest by far. PS: a 75" flat screen TV will easily fit in the cupboard :)

Measures approx: 265cm tall x 198cm wide x 88cm deep
