Large vintage hand painted fairground shooting game panel. The target is the handle on the door, and if you hit the target, the doors would spring open to reveal dancing girls, who have sadly long since retired. The original fabric 'curtain' is still intact behind the doors, and even the inside of the doors (which would only be seen if the player was successful) are painted to represent panelled wood doors (see photos). Dating from the late 1940s or early 1950s, this piece has obvious signs of age and use - obviously not all the patrons of the fairground were so good at shooting.... The mechanism to open the doors is missing, but wouldn't take much to reinstate.
