Very large and rare antique French cast iron crucifix. Has some damage (missing a part of the wreath around the centre - see photos), but in otherwise excellent condition. Has the representations of the 4 apostles (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John) referred to as The Four Evangelists, positioned around the corpus. When the four evangelists appear together, this is known as 'The Tetramorphs'. Has a silvered finished which highlights some of the detail of the piece.
