Would you like a clock with character? This one has it in spades! A fabulous decorator's piece which makes a statement wherever it resides.
It's an antique French Comtoise (Pot Bellied) Clock, dating from the mid 19th Century. The long case is carved and hand painted and has a lovely muted patina and the enamel clock face is in very good condition, with only very minor losses/repairs. The face has the makers name (Morin), and place of manufacture (Sainte Hermine, which is in the Pays de la Loire area of Western France). The face has a pressed brass surround, with agricultural details (wheat and barley). This theme is continued in the pressed brass pendulum, which is adjustable in length to enable fine tuning once the clock is in place. In full working order, and comes complete with the original weights. Some signs of historic worm to the case, but this is not obvious and does not detract from the piece in any way. Dismantles into a number of pieces for easier transportation.
