Ceramic Advertising Piece

Large CAMEL cigarettes advertising piece produced for the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. A unique one-off commissioned piece produced around the year 2000 for a major promotional campaign. Richard Joshua Reynolds established the company in 1875 for producing chewing tobacco in Winston. North Carolina, and the company is now the second largest tobacco company in the USA. The large ceramic hand has a ceramic 'sleeve' piece fitted around the base with the word 'CAMEL' pierced through. Flickering light bulbs are fitted on the base of the hand and can be seen through the lettering. In addition there is an illuminated cigarette sitting between the fore and middle fingers of the hand. The electrical fittings are all original (US), with a dimmer switch fitted inline, which brightens the cigarette end and affects the flickering light in the sleeve. Will need rewiring, although it does work on a converter - sold as a decorative piece only. This piece is in great condition, however the sleeve part has been restored at some time in the past where it had been broken - the break is clean and the repair is good, but it can be seen on closer inspection.
