Victorian Butcher's sign from Acton, London. Was repurposed over 50 years ago by a salvage dealer who carried out his business from the shop next door to the original butcher's shop (his shop was originally a cobblers, but the previous owner took the original Victorian sign with him when he left.....). The bulk of the sign is made from brass, with a wood support frame to the rear. The salvage dealer had applied letters to the front of the sign, so the ghost lettering can be seen (N. GOLD METALS). Has years of patina and signs of some overpainting. Would look great as is, with a light clean, or it could be fully polished to show the brass in all its' glory.
