Brass and Copper Armorial Shield

Victorian Armorial Shield in copper with brass decorations.  This form of shield was first used in early times of Heraldry, but was re-used in late 19th and early 20th Century. This shield is believed to date from the later period due to the number of sections included (the earlier versions would mostly display single or dual family associations). Has some significant features, such as the leopard face (second only to the lion in importance) and the eagles.

Measures: 25cm tall x 21.5cm wide x 3cm deep
