Bang & Olufsen BEOCENTER 4600

Vintage Bang & Olufsen BEOCENTER 4600 music centre designed by Jacob Jensen and manufactured from 1977 to 1980.  This system is in a rosewood effect case and comes complete with a set of BEOVOX S45 speakers (also in rosewood effect cabinets). The unit has been serviced and can be demonstrated in the shop.

The Beocenter 4600 is a multi-way combination unit incorporating a 2 x 25 watts RMS AM/FM receiver, an easy to use hi-fi cassette deck and an automatic record player. The lightweight arm has built-in bias compensation and originally carried Bang & Olufsen's MMC 20S pickup cartridge with spherical diamond stylus (this Beocenter has a replacement stylus).

The AM radio covers long and medium wavebands. Outstanding reception quality and high selectivity is secured by an Automatic Gain Control circuit, active noise suppression and hybrid filters.

The FM tuner is highly sensitive. Four stations can be pre-set for subsequent instant recall. The hi-fi cassette deck had all the features and qualities normally expected only in a separate deck:

* 3-digit counter with memory function

* electronic tape stop at end of play

* Dolby B Noise Reduction

* chrome or normal tapes can be used

The super Permalloy tape head is hard-wearing and has a long, useful lifetime. The record player too is automated: with all functions controlled by a single button. The anti-skating device works automatically too. Two Beovox S45 speakers complete this system.
