Antique heavy cast bronze alloy figure of an Asian Water Monitor lizard, dating from the early 20th Century. This lizard breed is found in coastal regions of South & South East Asia - the largest on record was discovered in Sri Lanka at over 3m long. First recorded in 1768, it is among the largest scaled reptiles in the world. Most likely a souvenir brought back from the region over a hundred years ago.
