Original early 20th Century theatre seats from Sheffield (row of 3 with aisle ends)
Original theatre seats recovered from the 'STAR' cinema on Ecclesall Road, Sheffield around 30 years ago just before it was demolished. The theatre opened in 1915, but the aisle ends have a very Art Deco style to them. It had been used as a bingo hall since the late 50s early 60s although the seats were in the upper section which had remained unused during those years. The metal frames are painted in a gold colour, but there are a few very minor areas where the paint has been chipped or scraped off, as you would expect for seats of this age. The fabric has been given a good hoovering and in reality thats all it needed although the odd small hole and minor wear have been left.
