Gorgeous antique cello case made from solid wood, with a green suede interior, and ebonised case. Research suggests it was made mid to late 19th century - high quality craftsmanship with beautifully finished joints and shaping. Inlaid brass name plaque with the initials T (or J) & C with a crown above. Traces of a name remain on the front but just can't make out the letters. Original hook and eye and snap closures with carrying handles on shoulders. There is a leather buckled strap at the neck to hold an instrument in place. Inside the neck piece is the address of the original owner - Maud Dunington from Sale. A fantastic piece - one of those items that you wish could speak!
