Large antique bain marie (or roasting pan) marked near the handle with the makers mark of Wilson & Son, late Barrow Wilson of the Strand, King William Street, City of London. This piece has 2 further stamps - 'House of C' and H.C.R.D, which we assume means House of Commons Restaurant Dept. This piece has a rolled edge, which is quite common with later 19th Century versions as it would allow the manufacturer to use thinner copper, thus reducing the weight but still retaining the rigidity required. Has articulated handles on either end for ease of handling. This pan has had a deep clean and polish - the tin has minimal wear, and is useable as is. However please note that the base is not flat, so would not be useable on an Aga or ceramic hob, but can be used in the oven or on gas burners.
Measures: 24.5" long x 19.5" wide x 5" deep (Approx 62cm x 49.5cm x 13cm)
