Liberty Corsetry Figure

Vintage and very rare original Liberty corsetry advertising figure. Never seen another - this beautiful and elegant blonde shop advertising piece would have graced the window or countertop of a high end department store, where ladies undergarments were sold circa 1930. Liberty corsets were produced by R & WH Symington of Leicestershire, which was established in 1856. The invention of the Liberty bodice in 1908, followed by the 'Avro' and 'Liberty' foundation garment ranges in the 1920s and 30s made them a household name. She is unfortunately missing her undergarments - she is a little under-dressed, but has tan lines. The figure stands on a branded base, which is part of the model.  She has a hole through the left foot, in the back of her legs and the top of her head (see photos) - a pole would have passed through these holes to secure her in place and prevent any accidents, such as children knocking her over. In excellent original condition, with only minor marks and fading commensurate with age and use.
