German Anatomical Chart

Large midcentury pull-down anatomical human chart - print of a painting for Dr. teNeues & Co Kempen, Germany. Dated 1951, the chart is part of the series: Biologisch-hygienisches Unterichtswerk des Deutschen Gesuntheits-Museum Koln. The chart is printed on paper and linen backed, and identifies 84 different areas of the human body (internal organs). In very good condition, it has the original support bars.

The firm was established by Dr Heinz teNeues in 1931 as an offset printer, but the plant was destroyed during the Second World War, and so the business was re-established in Kempen. The company has expanded and diversified since this chart was produced, and now carries out custom publishing projects for the likes of Porsche, Cartier, Ferrari and Dior to name a few.
